I just realize that I have not shared the story of my labour..Goodness..That brings back so much memories..
On Monday, 14th July, I went out with my sis after work and we headed to Ikea and ate dinner @ Courts..
That night, after Isyak, I suddenly experienced breathlessness and poor DH got worried..I felt that my chest was getting tighter and I couldn't breathe..It got so bad that I was in tears and poor DH called my family..My family told us to get ready and bring my hospital bag..When I heard that, I was like, 'Am I giving birth soon??'
Off we went to KKH 24 hr clinic..The moment we stepped into 24 hr clinic, the nurses rushed to attend to me, who was trying to do breathing exercises (heh)..I was put into the observation room and soon machines were strapped onto me..
Me, in the state of blurness, breathelessness..I just wanted to cry..
Soon a familiar head popped from the curtains..It was my Gynae!! Thank goodness she was on duty that night..She rushed to me and asked me what's wrong..Told her everything and she checked my vitals..
Calmly, she told me, 'You are in labour.'
My reaction?
O.O
(that icon shows eyes wide open :P)
Zoom, I was placed into the delivery suite..
DH came in soon after..He gave me the most cheekiest smile and said, 'we are having our baby soon!!!!'
How not to be geram with him??? :)
In that delivery suite, my Gynae burst my waterbag..Felt so wet there, heh..She asked if I wanted epidural as it will be very painful but I said no, even when the midwife asked me later on..Gynae told me that I would most probably be delivering her at about noon the next day..
Ouch!! Did I mention I am terrified of needles?
Fell asleep as and when I could..Gritted my teeth while bearing the pain..DH held my hands and stroked my face and told me to recite some doas/selawat..
I told him to rest too as he was exhausted..That lounge chair looked so comfy that I told DH I want to get off the bed and join him there..Heh..
Time passed oh so slowly but I kept my spirits up when I say to myself that I will see my baby very soon..My baby whom I've carried for 9 months.. :)
 Tick tock..
At 3 am, Gynae came and told me that I've not dilated much, about 3 cm.. :(
The weird poses I had while enduring the pain..Oh, I am wearing DH's red hot soccer socks..Heh..
 Tick tock..
By early morning, the pain was getting more intense..I could see poor DH was worried, he kept asking me to take epidural, which I declined..Instead, I asked for gas..Which I didnt know how to use in the beginning..Hahaha!! Gas didn't help anyway but it did take my mind of the pain as I was concentrating on my breathing exercises.. :P
By about 8 plus in the morning, my Gynae came and told me that I've dilated to 4 cm.. :(
She talked to DH and myself and told us that by 4 pm, if I am still not dilating much, I would have to go for a c-sect.. :(
I nearly cried when I heard that..DH looked at me and this time, he was firm about me taking epidural..He told me not to bother about the costs as he cares for me the most, not the costs..So finally I gave in to epidural..
I had 72 ml of oxytoxin which shocked the anesthetist..He was amazed I lasted that long without any painkillers, etc..
After bearing the pain for 12 hours, I had my epidural..The nurses were encouraging..Telling me how strong I was bearing the pain for 12 hours and not throwing tantrums or hitting or scolding my husband..Hahahaaaaa!!
Every sec, I was praying that my cervix would open and I would deliver normally..
Nurses kept looking at the chart and told me that my contractions are good..
 Tick tock..
I was getting more anxious as time went by..Cervix please dilate!!
Look at that cheeky daddy to be..What is he looking at?
Where baby would be placed after she was born.. :)
Soon at 3 plus, Gynae came and told me my cervix dilated to 5 cm only..She told me that c-sect is necessary now cos I have been in labour for too long, cervix's not opening wide enough, waterbag's burst long ago and most prob, baby is too big..
Off, I was wheeled to the operating theatre..
At 4.27pm, Baby Auni was born..
I was so heavily drugged and shivering that when I first laid eyes on her, I was like...'That baby is mine??'
Hahahaaa!!
Kissed her and she was passed to my family members..
So that's my story!!
17 hours of labour I had to endure to have my precious Baby Auni..
All's worth it, even now, as I am experiencing discomforts due to the dressing for burst stitches and inner wounds..
Just one look at my Baby Auni and all pain seems to vanish.. *blessed*
Oh! Speaking of Baby Auni, that cheeky baby!! I was feeding her last night, and she, as usual, suckled but I didn't know she didn't swallow..Milk just flowed out of her mouth and some ended up coming out of her left nostril!! Baaahh!!
What must I do to ensure you drink your milk, Auni?
So menggeramkan!!!
:)
