    How would you feel if you are told:

    ~ Your baby is healthy..
    ~Your baby is a strong girl..
    ~She is coping well for a day 5 baby..
    ~No, you can't take her home yet cos she still needs monitoring as jaundice may peak for the first 5-7 days of a newborn's life..
    ~253 is acceptable for a baby of her age(5 days old)..
    ~Her blood will be taken again today later at 6pm to monitor her jaundice level..If its below 300, she will be taken off the double light and put on single light (insyaAllah, amin..) If her jaundice continues to stabilise and be below the 300 level, most probably you can take her home on Tuesday..

    How would you feel?

    A mixture of emotions..

    Thankful that she is healthy, no problems whatsoever, besides the jaundice..Her liver is maturing..She is coping well with treatment and the doc says she is a strong baby..Alhamdulillah..

    Nervous and worried that her jaundice might rise..Double ray will be substituted with exchange of blood..She will stay for a definite longer period of time..

    So dearest Auni, Ummi is praying so hard that your jaundice level will not reach above 300 by 6 pm today and that you will be put on single light and subsequently discharged on Tuesday..

    Ummi is trying to look at the positive side though deep in her heart, she misses you so much..Not being able to hold you till Tuesday will definitely test her endurance and patience..Not to mention the constant worry and cryiing..

    Please come back to Ummi soon, my Darling..

    Tuesday..2 more days..

    It will be the longest wait in Ummi's life..
